How Exercise Works
Exercise in Hearty is built to protect strength, keep progression simple, and reduce pressure on hard GLP-1 days.
Why strength matters
During weight loss, the goal is not only to lose weight. The goal is to protect muscle, strength, and daily function as much as possible.
How often to train
Aim for three strength sessions per week. The app tracks your weekly rhythm and your three-workout streak.
Home or gym
Choose Home or Gym before starting. Home uses bodyweight and band progressions. Gym uses machine-based progressions.
How progression works
Complete your sets with control.
When you hit the top of the rep range often enough, Hearty moves you toward the next step.
The progression ladder shows your current step and the next step.
What counts as a workout
A workout counts when you complete the strength session and tap Finish. Daily walking or general movement is handled separately from strength workouts.
Support Mode
Support Mode is for harder GLP-1 days. When it is active, exercise difficulty is reduced by about 25%. It helps you keep the rhythm without forcing a full-intensity session.
Low-energy days
If energy is low, use Support Mode, choose the easier version, move slowly, and stop if you feel unwell. The goal is consistency, not punishment.
